What the AI Visibility Checker actually does
Most “AI visibility” tools tell you whether your website is technically readable. That isn’t the question you’re asking.
We run the question your customers are actually typing.
The checker submits a set of real buying prompts across the major AI platforms, reads what comes back, and tells you what you really need to know:
- How AI assistants answer when your customers ask
- Who is being recommended instead
- What is feeding those answers
- Your pages against the pages being cited
- Whether the assistants can read your site, and how fast
- Entity consistency: whether your details agree with each other
- What we found, worst first
- Off-site, because that is where the answer is decided
- On-site, because real questions can be answered and won there
- Summary of everything needed to be fixed
The last part is the one that matters. The models aren’t inventing their shortlists, they’re reading someone else’s. Once you know which pages they trust, you know exactly what to fix.
What you get in your report
| Section | What it shows you |
|---|---|
| Visibility score | Your share of voice across all five platforms, scored 0–100 |
| Platform breakdown | Named, mentioned or absent: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews |
| Competitor shortlist | Which businesses get recommended instead of you, and how often |
| Citation sources | The exact domains each model pulled from when answering |
| Technical blockers | Whether AI crawlers can reach and render your site |
| Priority actions | The three fixes that will move your score fastest |
No 40-page PDF nobody reads. One page, five platforms, and actions needed to be taken.
“But we already rank on Google”
Good. That’s roughly half the battle, and we mean that literally.
Only about 45% of the businesses that perform well in traditional local search also appear in AI recommendations. The overlap is real but partial, which means ranking well tells you surprisingly little about whether an AI will name you.

Of the businesses that perform well in traditional local search, only about 45% also appear in AI recommendations.
Here’s why the two systems diverge:
| Traditional search | AI recommendation | |
|---|---|---|
| Result shape | Ten links, you choose | One answer, already chosen |
| Who gets seen | Top 10 | Usually top 3, often just one |
| Key signals | Links, relevance, proximity | Entity clarity, reviews, third-party consensus |
| Review bar | 3.5+ will still show | 4.3+ before most models will name you |
| Where it reads from | Its own index | Reddit, Wikipedia, directories, listicles, LinkedIn, digital media |
| Your controls | Search Console | Almost none, it’s what the wider web says about you |
The uncomfortable version: in traditional search you compete for attention. In AI search you compete for existence.
There’s no page two.
How our AI Visibility Checker works
Sign up with your company email. No credit card, no sales call first.
We read your homepage, write the buying question a customer in your area would ask, then ask it live across five AI platforms.
Your score, who is recommended instead of you, and every platform’s answer in full. Usually under a minute.
What to do with your score
You’re effectively invisible. Sometimes that’s a technical blocker taking ten minutes to fix. More often it’s that nothing on the wider web says what you do clearly enough for a model to repeat it.
The models know you exist but don’t trust you enough to lead with you. This is usually a review, citation and entity-consistency problem, and it’s the fastest band to improve.
You’re already in the conversation. The work now is defending it and widening the gap, because your competitors are about to start paying attention.
Whichever band you land in, the report tells you which one you’re dealing with.
